I guess it’s been in the last two years or so that I’ve developed the ability to move with the flow of things. It sounds so simple and common. Laid back isn’t a rare quality in a person. But I see my friends and my family and total strangers in the airport wigging the fuck out over completely unchangable matters and I wonder when they lost their ability to pan out and see the bigger picture. Or worse, if they never even had it.
The attitude a girl gave me for my place in line, or the faces a man made while the woman in front of him loaded her luggage into the overhead compartment. Don’t we all have the same goal? Get from point A to point B? These tiny insignificant things aren’t going to hinder those so why are their brows furrowing and cheeks burning?
How rushed is your life that if someone doesn’t move at the same pace as yours, the bottom drops out on your mood?
It’s a pretty arrogant thing – some people’s inability to acknowledge that the earth isn’t rotating based on their happiness, comfort and convenience. No one lives in the World According To You so calm the fuck down, let your hair go, your shoulders loose and go with the flow. You might catch a breeze or a good looking stranger’s eye in the process.
